Uses: This herb is remarkable for its healing ability on broken bones, damaged tendons, soft tissue injury and bruises.
Comfrey leaf and/or root is applied externally to unbroken skin in the form of an oil (see recipes) or in combination with other herbs as a fresh poultice. My use of this herb in practice has been amazing.
Contraindications: Due to the high pyrrolizidine alkaloid content, it is not advisable to take it internally.
Do not use on pregnant or lactating animals, or animals with liver disease or skin photosensitization.
Do not use for longer than 4-6 weeks at a time.
